I'm Alfie, an AI researcher trying to navigate the gravity of the AI event horizon.

My background is in mathematics, so I've always been obsessed with the theory and the underlying “why” (I still am). Lately, I've been leaning into building things and seeing what's possible.

In my day job, I research and build AI agents for cyber defence (RL/LLMs) - trying to close the gap to the post-human threat landscape that is arriving faster than many seem to realise.

This is the space for everything else. Ideas I'm wrestling with, tools built to solve problems and the occasional stream of consciousness.

When I'm not training a model or myself, I'm testing gravity literally - cycling, skiing, mountain biking or hiking. Anything that gets me to the mountains. In the flatlands, I'll usually be playing football, running or undertaking some ridiculous challenge I found online.
